My Favorite Dinosaurs: Saltasaurus

Here's number 21 on my list of favorite dinosaurs! The "Lizard from Salta," Saltasaurus! The Saltasaurus is one of the many sauropods that has lasted throughout the Mesozoic Era up until a time in the Late Cretaceous Period! Ironically enough, this was in landmasses in South America and Africa where sauropods still reigned supreme, where as North America at the time no longer saw any sauropods remaining dominant. Looking similar to dinosaurs like Apatosaurus and Diplodocus, Saltasaurus was among one of the smallest(if not the smallest) sauropods that ever lived! One of the biggest ones ever estimated was 39 feet long, that's almost as long as a full grown adult T-Rex! However despite it's small size, it was in fact a well armored herbivore! Along it's back, it had tough osteoderms(bony spikes) and armor like skin to protect itself from a dangerous carnivore attack(though it might not have been always successful)! Basically, it's kinda like a small apatosaurus mixed with an ankylosaur. These facts make this dinosaur a worthy contender in my favorites!
